A man from West Bengal was arrested for allegedly peddling heroin in Hyderabad, with the Telangana Excise Department’s Special Task Force seizing drugs worth around Rs 9 lakh from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Anu SK, a native of Malda district in West Bengal. According to the police, Anu procured heroin in bulk from West Bengal, prepared it into smaller packets using silver foil and sold it to consumers in Hyderabad.

After taking the accused into custody, the STF handed him over to the local police for further investigation. As per preliminary information, Anu sold heroin at Rs 10,000 per gram in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced in which Anu claimed that he had brought the drug from West Bengal and had been selling it in Hyderabad for about a week.

Police are investigating the source of the heroin, Anu’s network of contacts and whether other people were involved in the alleged drug-peddling operation.
