In yet another corporate boost for the Telangana government's ambitious Skills University, a multi-sector infrastructure company, Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has come forward to help with the construction of the institute's building and campus.

MEIL announced Rs 200 crore assistance to the state government under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the construction of the entire university campus. The company announced that it will construct the Skills University with state-the-art infrastructure facilities, officials said.

MEIL's gesture came almost a week after the Adani Foundation donated Rs 100 crore to the Revanth Reddy government for the establishment of the university.

Representatives of MEIL, led by Managing Director Krishna Reddy, held a meeting with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat to discuss the construction of the university campus on Saturday. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers D Sridhar Babu, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, P Srinivas Reddy and MP Anil Kumar Yadav were also present.

During the meeting, the infrastructure company announced that the construction of the Skills University campus would be undertaken to world-class standards.

MIEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government for the construction of the building.

In August this year, Chief Minister Reddy performed ‘Bhumi Puja’ for the construction of the Skill University on 57 acres of land near Meerkhanpet in Kandukur mandal.

The Congress government in the southern state decided to take up the construction of the campus to provide all facilities including advanced teaching facilities for the students.

Reddy congratulated and thanked Megha Company for coming forward to construct the university campus with CSR funds.

Meanwhile, MEIL MD Krishna Reddy said that his company would also construct hostel buildings along with academic buildings, workshops and classrooms.

The university building models and designs, which have already been prepared by the architects, were presented to the constructor in the meeting.

Reddy asked the officials to finalise the building designs within a week and also make arrangements to start the construction of the structure from November 8. The Chief Minister assured all kinds of support on behalf of the state government.
