Seven people, including three children, were injured after a country-made bomb allegedly prepared for hunting wild boars exploded during testing in Telangana's Kamareddy district on Sunday.

According to DSP Vitthal Reddy, a group of people had prepared country-made explosive devices near the double-bedroom houses in the Erramannoor area in Brahmanapalle village of Banswada mandal to hunt wild boars. Four people were reportedly planning to go hunting and decided to test one of the devices before setting out.

During the test, one of the explosives was forcefully struck against the ground, triggering a powerful explosion that injured seven people present at the spot.

Three of the injured, identified as Ramesh, Anjali and Sridevi, sustained relatively serious injuries and were shifted to Nizamabad District Hospital for further treatment. The remaining injured persons were reported to be out of danger, the DSP said.

Police rushed to the spot following the explosion and launched an investigation into the preparation and handling of the country-made explosives. Statements are being recorded from the injured, eyewitnesses and local residents.

DSP Vitthal Reddy clarified that the explosion took place while the device was being tested and not during an actual hunting expedition. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
