The eight-year-old student accused of attacking the girl has been dealt with under the JJ Act and sent to an observation home in Ambala, where he is undergoing counselling due to his young age.
The Haryana Human Rights Commission and the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights have also taken cognisance of the incident and sought reports from the concerned authorities.
The Haryana Education Department has constituted a committee to investigate the incident. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has said that no one found guilty of negligence will be spared. So far, the school principal and two JBT teachers have been suspended.
