An Assistant Operations Manager (AOM) was found dead inside his office at the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) chambers in Agra on Sunday night, with his mother and wife alleging that he was being harassed by a senior officer. The deceased, Abhishek Singh, was found sitting dead on his office chair when his family reached his chamber looking for him after he failed to return home.

Police and forensic teams rushed to the spot and collected evidence. The death was initially suspected to be a case of suicide, though the exact cause has not been officially established.

According to the family, Singh had been under mental stress for the past few days. He had reported to work as usual on Sunday morning and returned home at around 3 pm. He later went back to the office carrying a diary but did not return home thereafter.

When Singh could not be contacted until around 9 pm and his phone was found switched off, his family became concerned and began looking for him. They reached the DRM office at around 10 pm and, upon opening his chamber, found him dead on his chair.

Foam was reportedly seen coming from his mouth, while some pills were found lying nearby. Police and forensic teams examined the scene and continued collecting evidence late into the night.

FAMILY ALLEGES HARASSMENT BY SENIOR OFFICER

Singh's mother, Sushila Devi, and wife, Aastha, have accused a senior officer of subjecting him to continuous harassment. His mother alleged that the officer would not grant him leave and was putting him under pressure.

Aastha said Singh had been transferred from Prayagraj to Agra around four months ago. She alleged that the senior officer had been harassing him regularly and that Singh had repeatedly sought time to understand his new responsibilities.

According to his wife, the senior officer allegedly threatened to "ruin his life" when Singh asked for more time to settle into the work. The family believes that the alleged harassment and mental pressure contributed to his death.

Singh's mother reportedly fell ill following the incident and had to be admitted to a hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Singh's death. Forensic teams have collected evidence from his office chamber, and the findings are expected to help establish the sequence of events and the cause of death.
