A woman was murdered by her husband after 21 years of marriage, bringing a long-running marital dispute to a bloody end in Agra. The accused barged into his wife's parental home and repeatedly stabbed her to death, leaving two young children without their mother.
The brutal killing was reported from the Koliyai Basti area under Tajganj police station limits on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Kunti Prajapati, had been living at her parents' home for the past eight months following prolonged marital discord. According to police, legal proceedings between the husband and wife were already pending before a court. On Tuesday, the accused, Ranveer, a resident of Pawawali village who works at a cold storage facility, allegedly reached his in-laws' house. Following an argument, he is accused of launching a frenzied knife attack, inflicting multiple stab wounds that killed Kunti on the spot.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the attack and arrested the accused from the spot. The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and a detailed investigation is underway.
Police said the husband and wife had been married for 21 years and were involved in an ongoing court case linked to their marital dispute. Investigators said the accused was taken into custody from the crime scene immediately after the murder.
The killing has left Kunti's family devastated and two young children without their mother, as police continue to investigate all aspects of the case.
