Another accused, linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, arrested in Baba Siddique murder case

The arrested accused, identified as Akash Gill and a resident of Fazilka district in Punjab, provided logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique.

The Punjab Police, in a joint operation with their Maharashtra counterparts, has arrested a person associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Fazilka in connection with the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, a senior official said on Saturday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Akash Gill, who is a resident of Pakka Chishti of Fazilka district in Punjab.

"Preliminary investigation reveals the arrested accused is an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang and was providing logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the murder of Baba Siddique," Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav posted on X.

The Mumbai Police has taken the custody of Akash Gill for further investigation into Siddique's murder, he added.

"The local police have been working closely with the Mumbai Police in the Baba Siddique murder case," Anti-Gangster Task Force Additional Director General of Police Promod Ban said.

Gill, whose alleged involvement came to the fore during the investigation, was arrested by the teams from the AGTF and the Mumbai Crime Branch from Sulemanki Road in Fazilka, Ban informed.
