The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued legal notices to Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, and YouTuber Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, over their comments on alleged irregularities in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE).
The commission accused Khan of spreading misinformation about the normalisation of scores in the BPSC exam, which it claims incited protests by aspirants. The notice also alleges that Khan Sir used terms like “besharam” (shameless) and “baklol” (someone who is stupid) to describe the commission during the demonstrations.
Khan has been asked to provide evidence for his claims within 15 days or face legal action. He told reporters, “I will keep fighting for the cause of students,” adding that he will consult his lawyers before responding.
Prashant Kishor, meanwhile, has been asked to substantiate his allegations that government jobs in Bihar are sold for amounts ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore, with the total value of the alleged corruption exceeding Rs 1,000 crore. In interviews, Kishor described the matter as a major scandal. The BPSC has given him seven days to produce evidence.
The controversy emerged following allegations of a question paper leak during the December 13 exam, which was attended by over 12,000 candidates in Patna. While the government has denied the allegations, it ordered a re-exam for the affected candidates.
Protests have intensified, with students demanding the cancellation of the exam. Independent MP Pappu Yadav has called for a state-wide bandh on January 12. Congress student wing leader Varun Choudhary joined the demonstrations, observing a silent vigil.
