Marriage proposals pour in for CJP's Abhijeet Dipke. Here's what his mother said

Marriage proposals have been pouring in for CJP's Abhijeet Dipke for nearly two years, but despite growing public attention and his family's eagerness to see him settle down, he has been turning them down - and his mother has now revealed the reason behind his decision.

Even as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) remains locked in a standoff with the Centre over its demand for the withdrawal of FIRs against students, its founder Abhijeet Dipke appears to have put another major life decision on hold. According to his family, the 30-year-old activist has been receiving a steady stream of marriage proposals, but says he wants to become financially independent before settling down.

Dipke's mother, Anita Dipke, in an interview with news agency PTI, said that the family had been receiving marriage proposals for nearly two years, even before the CJP's nationwide agitation over the NEET-UG paper leak catapulted him into the national spotlight.

"We have been getting proposals for the last two years," she said, adding that despite the growing interest, her son has consistently maintained that he would marry only after becoming financially stable.

"He told us, 'Let me earn something after finishing my studies. Otherwise, how will I get married?' I told him we have enough money, but he said he wants to earn for himself. He is so honest that he won’t take anything other than clothes for his wedding," she said.

When Abhijeet Dipke arrived in New Delhi from Boston on June 6, 2026, he was largely known as an online activist. Within weeks, however, he emerged as the face of nationwide student protests over irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.

The movement eventually culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, one of the key demands raised by the protesters. Although the agitation has now ended, Dipke has continued to dominate public discourse, with his personal life also drawing attention.

Asked whether she wanted her son to marry, Anita Dipke said it was only natural for parents to wish to see their children settled. "Every parent wants their child to get married. I feel the same way," she said.

However, she clarified that the final decision would rest with her son and that she had not discussed the matter with him recently.

"We haven't discussed anything. He doesn't even get much time to talk. We speak over video calls, mostly about his health. He talks for half an hour and then goes to sleep," she said.

She added that Dipke is currently unwell and she has advised him to rest before returning home.

On whether the family had found a prospective bride, Anita Dipke said she had neither met nor spoken to anyone.

"I haven't seen any girl. He hasn't told me anything," she said, adding that even after he returns home, she does not intend to raise the topic immediately.

"I won't discuss marriage with him for at least a month. Let him recover first," she said.

Explaining why she hopes to see him married soon, Anita Dipke said she worries about his future and wants him to have a family of his own. "His cousins are all married now, so I also feel he should get married," she said.
