US suspends all immigration requests from Afghan nationals after Washington DC shooting

US has indefinitely halted all immigration requests for Afghan nationals, hours after two National Guard troops were shot near the White House in Washington DC.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Thursday announced that it is immediately suspending all immigration requests for Afghan nationals. The move comes hours after a targeted attack by an Afghan individual on members of the National Guard in Washington DC, near White House.
