Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday urged Telangana's youth to deliver what he called a "political death blow" to the Congress, saying only then would its leaders "learn their lesson" for allegedly betraying promises made to young people before the 2023 Assembly elections.

"I sincerely urge you (the youth) to write a 'Death Declaration' for Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, who deceived the youth in the name of the 'Youth Declaration.' Only when they are made to write their own 'Death Declaration' will they come to their senses," KTR said while addressing the BRS's Yuvajana Sangarama Sadassu event at Hyderabad's Saroornagar Stadium.

Stepping up his attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Telangana government, KTR accused them of failing to deliver on pre-election promises made to the state's youth.

Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi's popular slogan, KTR added, "You spoke of a 'Mohabbat Ki Dukaan', but for Telangana's young and jobless, it has become a 'Gaddari Ka Ghar'."

Alleging that the Congress government had let down unemployed youth, KTR claimed that lakhs of job aspirants were still waiting for recruitment notifications while the government was more interested in "lootification" than making appointments.

"Your nominated CM is not giving Telangana's youth jobs. He is busy filling the pockets of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi," KTR said, referring to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Recalling that the Congress had unveiled its Youth Declaration at the same Saroornagar venue ahead of the Assembly polls, KTR alleged that the ruling party had failed to honour its commitments, leaving thousands of unemployed youth disappointed.

The Yuvajana Sangarama Sadassu was organised by the BRS to highlight what it described as the Congress government's failure to fulfil its promises on jobs, education and youth welfare.
