Vijay declares Rs 624 cr assets with 1.2 cr gold, wife owns Rs 4.07 cr jewellery

Actor-politician and TVK chief Vijay is making headlines again after details from his election affidavit surfaced online. The Vijay affidavit, filed for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and available through ADR/MyNeta records, gives a close look at the actor’s wealth, gold holdings, bank balances, luxury vehicles and loans given to family members.

One of the most talked-about details is the jewellery and assets owned by his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam.

According to the filings, Vijay owns gold worth around Rs 1.2 crore, while Sangeetha’s jewellery and related assets are valued at more than Rs 4.07 crore.

VIJAY DECLARES ASSETS ABOVE RS 620 CRORE

According to the Vijay election affidavit, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder has declared total assets worth more than Rs 624 crore. Reports say his movable assets stand at around Rs 404 crore, while immovable assets are worth over Rs 220 crore.

The affidavit also reveals that Vijay keeps a major portion of his wealth in bank deposits. Around Rs 213 crore is reportedly parked in a single Indian Overseas Bank account.

He also has fixed deposits worth nearly Rs 100 crore spread across Axis Bank, SBI, HDFC Bank and Indian Overseas Bank branches in Chennai.

Apart from cash and deposits, Vijay has declared gold worth nearly Rs 1.2 crore and silver articles valued at around Rs 15 lakh. His affidavit also lists luxury vehicles including BMW and Lexus models.

SANGEETHA’S GOLD, DIAMONDS AND UK PROPERTIES

Sangeetha Sornalingam’s assets have also become a major talking point after the affidavit details went public. Reports linked to the filings say she owns around 3.1 kg of gold jewellery, diamonds worth nearly Rs 1 crore and silver articles weighing around 2 kg.

The total value of these assets is estimated at over Rs 4.07 crore.

Reports further mention that Sangeetha has several fixed deposits and properties in the UK connected to her family wealth. Her total assets in the affidavit include both movable and immovable properties.

LOANS TO FAMILY MEMBERS ALSO DISCLOSED

Another detail from the Thalapathy Vijay assets declaration is the financial support extended to family members and associates.

The affidavit reportedly mentions that Vijay gave a loan of Rs 12.6 crore to Sangeetha. Loans to his parents, children and a senior TVK functionary are also part of the disclosure.

The affidavit has generated massive buzz online as Vijay’s political profile continues to grow after TVK emerged as a major force in the Tamil Nadu elections.
