Tamil Nadu results: TVK seen eating into DMK, AIADMK votes as votes are counted
Early counting trends show Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam leading in 46 seats and topping vote share. The figures suggest TVK is cutting into both DMK and AIADMK support and could emerge as the state's single-largest party.

- Early trends show DMK alliance leading, but TVK is close behind
- Vijay's party is ahead in 46 seats in initial counting rounds
- The ruling alliance leads 73 seats, while AIADMK is ahead in 21
The Vijay-led Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam has emerged as a major disruptor, at least in terms of vote share. As per very early trends, the TVK is leading in 46 seats while the incumbent DMK-led alliance is ahead in 73. The AIADMK, meanwhile, is just ahead in 21 seats.
However, the bigger picture lies in the vote share, which shows that it is eating into the vote share of the DMK as well as the AIADMK. The Vijay-led party has garnered 31 per cent votes in very early trends, just marginally ahead of the DMK. But the AIADMK has taken a massive hit in terms of vote share, as it has fallen to 27 per cent as per very early trends.
If the trends hold, the TVK could emerge not only as a disruptor but also as the single-largest party in the state. Tamil Nadu Assembly has 234 seats, with 117 as the half-way mark.
