Actor Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid have reportedly ended their relationship after more than 11 years together. According to recent reports, the couple quietly separated late last year, with those close to them claiming the decision was mutual and that they remain on friendly terms despite going their separate ways.
According to the reports by Daily Mail, the breakup came after the pair gradually realised their lives were moving in different directions rather than because of any major disagreement. Although their romantic relationship has ended, sources claim they continue to share a strong friendship.
Speaking to the publication, a friend of the former couple said, “Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much. This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives.”
Cox and McDaid first began dating in 2013 after being introduced through mutual friends, including singer Ed Sheeran. They announced their engagement in 2014 but briefly split the following year before rekindling their romance in 2016.
For much of their relationship, the couple maintained a long-distance arrangement, with Cox living in Los Angeles and McDaid based in London. They regularly travelled between the United States and the United Kingdom to spend time together.
According to Daily Mail, both have since moved forward with their lives. McDaid is reportedly in the early stages of a new relationship, though no details about his partner have been made public.
The couple were last seen together during a visit to the US Open in September. A month earlier, they had also stepped out with Jennifer Aniston and wellness expert Jim Curtis for a double date in Malibu.
Meanwhile, Cox was recently seen in New York with her Shining Vale co-star Greg Kinnear. However, reports clarified that the outing was platonic despite the two portraying husband and wife in the series.
McDaid, who joined Snow Patrol in 2011, is currently touring with the band across the UK.
