The shoot of Fauzi, starring Prabhas, has reportedly been suspended after a road accident near Hyderabad claimed the life of a crew member and left five others injured. The incident took place when members of the film unit were travelling to Ramoji Film City.
According to reports by Times Now, the vehicle carrying the crew lost control and crashed into cement divider blocks near Abdullapurmet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The accident reportedly took place near the Toopranpet Bridge under the jurisdiction of the Choutuppal Police Station. One person died in the crash, while five injured crew members were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The makers are yet to issue an official statement.
Production status
Even as the shoot has been halted, the film is said to be nearing completion. As per 123Telugu, Mythri Movie Makers CEO Cherry said nearly 80 per cent of the shoot has been wrapped up, with only three action sequences featuring Prabhas still remaining. Despite the setback, the film is reportedly still on track for an October release, which could see the actor appear on the big screen twice in the same year.
Leak warning from makers
The development comes days after a few glimpses from the sets went viral on social media. The team behind the upcoming Telugu film addressed the matter after several images from the shoot surfaced online and issued a warning on X, asking users not to share the leaked visuals.
“It has come to our attention that certain accounts are circulating leaked images from the sets of #Fauzi. Please treat this as a strict warning – any such content will be reported, and necessary action will be taken against those involved,” the film’s official handle posted.
The statement further said the leaks could affect the viewing experience. “These leaks compromise the experience we are carefully building. What’s coming on the big screen will be far bigger and worth the wait. We urge everyone to refrain from sharing or engaging with leaked content,” the makers added.
Fauzi, which stars Prabhas and Imanvi, also features Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada in key roles. While the film does not yet have an official release date, reports suggest that the makers are eyeing a Dussehra release this year.
