BJP MLA's 17-year-old son missing in Jammu and Kashmir, search on in 3 districts

The 17-year-old son of BJP MLA Vijay Kumar, was reported missing in Kathua on Tuesday evening. Police began a search after preliminary information said he boarded a Jammu-bound bus from Hiranagar.

The 17-year-old son of BJP leader and MLA Vijay Kumar was reported missing from Kathua district on Tuesday evening, prompting police to launch a search operation.

The boy, a Class 11 student, was last seen in his hometown Hiranagar, where he boarded a Jammu-bound bus at around 4:15 pm, according to preliminary information. He has remained untraceable since then.

Multiple teams have been deployed to trace the teenager. Police have also questioned the bus driver and conductor to ascertain his whereabouts.

Teams are scrutinising CCTV footage from various locations in Samba and Jammu to track the MLAs' son movements after he was last seen. Police have also launched a manhunt to locate the missing student.

An alert has been sounded across the Kathua-Jammu belt, with heightened vigilance being maintained on vehicles travelling towards adjoining Punjab, sources said.

So far, police have not found any clue about the teenager's whereabouts.
