Harvard is coming to Hyderabad: Executive courses to begin in December 2026

Telangana has announced Harvard executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026. The move aligns with plans to widen global academic partnerships, research and skills development.

Harvard University will start offering executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday.

The announcement came during a meeting with a delegation representing UK business schools and universities at the MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad.

The initiative is part of the Telangana government's plan to develop the state into a 'Global Knowledge Hub', with a focus on international education, industry partnerships and research.

FROM HARVARD CLASSROOMS TO HYDERABAD

Reddy said the arrival of international educational institutions could create opportunities for collaboration between foreign universities, local institutions and industries.

He also said the government was ready to support international universities and business schools seeking to establish a presence in Telangana.

The meeting included representatives from around 30 UK universities, along with House of Lords member Karan Bilimoria, British Council representative Janaka Pushpanathan and Chartered Association of Business Schools CEO Flora Hamilton.

MORE GLOBAL UNIVERSITIES IN THE PIPELINE

The chief minister said discussions were underway regarding offshore campuses of institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Purdue University in Hyderabad.

He also highlighted potential partnerships with Harvard, MIT, the University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University in areas such as executive education, dual-degree programmes, faculty training and research.

The proposed collaborations could expand access to international academic programmes and professional learning opportunities.

WHY THE DECEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT MATTERS

Reddy's announcement comes after his own participation in a six-day leadership programme at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government earlier this year.

The state government is also developing the Young India Skills University in Bharat Future City, alongside plans for an education hub.

Reddy invited UK education representatives to the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December.

The proposed initiatives reflect Telangana's efforts to attract international institutions and strengthen its education and skills ecosystem.
