Did Siya and Chetan secretly marry? Photo adds twist to Ketan Agarwal murder

Pune Police are investigating whether murder accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary secretly married in Rajasthan in December 2025. The angle emerged from phone conversations and has been included in the chargesheet before the court.

The investigation into the murder of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal is now focusing on whether his accused fiancee Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary had secretly married in Rajasthan in December 2025, police sources said.

The sources said the fresh twist comes after Pune Police analysed conversations from their mobile phones.

Following the lead, a police team travelled to Rajasthan to verify the alleged marriage. However, investigators did not find any official record or CCTV footage confirming that the two had married at the famous Khatu Shyam temple, sources said.

Investigators did, however, recover a photograph of Siya and Chetan from their mobile phones. In the photograph, the two are seen wearing flower garlands.

Police have reportedly included the photograph as evidence and submitted it along with the chargesheet before the court.

The two travelled to Rajasthan with some friends. They had initially planned to travel from Pune by air, but after their flight was cancelled, they travelled to Rajasthan by train and returned by the same mode, the police sources said.

Investigators have recovered evidence related to the journey.

According to the investigation, Siya and Chetan had been in close contact and were allegedly in a relationship since October 2025.

But since they were opposed to the relationship, Siya's family were actively suitable for a match and fixed her wedding with Ketan.

Ketan and Siya got engaged on February 19, 2026, and their wedding was scheduled to take place in Udaipur this November.

However, investigators said Ketan’s family members told them that Siya had earlier expressed doubts about the marriage and had once asked whether the wedding could be postponed by a year.

Police said enquiries with Ketan’s sister Sanjana and other relatives revealed that Siya had repeatedly insisted that Ketan visit Lohagad Fort.

According to investigators, Siya took Ketan to Lohagad on May 31 and wanted to visit the fort again on June 4, but his mother stopped him.

Police claimed that on June 14, Siya tried to push Ketan from a cliff, but he managed to hold on to a bush. When Ketan questioned what had happened, she raised an alarm about a snake and presented the incident as though she had saved him.

Investigators said the final plan was executed on June 18.

Both Siya and Chetan are in custody, and police claim the two admitted to their involvement during interrogation.
