In Short

  • Advertisement was issued after departments submitted formally verified reservation calculations
  • Twenty-two requisitions from departments and directorates formed the basis of recruitment
  • UPSSSC said departments, not the commission, fixed category-wise vacancy details

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued a clarification after claims circulating on social media alleged irregularities in reservation allocation for the ongoing recruitment of Auditor and Assistant Accountant posts.

The Commission has termed these allegations "misleading" and "baseless", stating that all reservation-related provisions were followed before the recruitment advertisement was issued.

The clarification comes amid growing discussions online regarding the reservation status of certain Assistant Accountant posts under the Directorate of Internal Audit and Accounts.

WHAT THE COMMISSION SAYS

According to the Commission, the recruitment drive aims to fill 1,829 vacancies for Auditor and Assistant Accountant positions across multiple government departments.

UPSSSC stated that the advertisement was issued only after receiving formal requisitions from the concerned departments and verifying all reservation-related calculations submitted by them.

The Commission stressed that reservation norms were not determined independently by UPSSSC. Instead, the respective departments provided category-wise vacancy details after applying the government's existing reservation policy.

FOCUS ON 609 ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT POSTS

Much of the controversy centres around 609 Assistant Accountant posts under the Directorate of Internal Audit and Accounts.

The Commission said the Directorate itself had confirmed that reservation calculations for these vacancies were carried out strictly according to government rules. It also clarified that the category-wise distribution was based on the total sanctioned strength of the cadre, which is the prescribed method under existing regulations.

According to UPSSSC, the Directorate formally communicated that the reservation allocation complied fully with the applicable rules before the vacancies were forwarded for recruitment.

HOW THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS WORKS

The Commission explained that the current recruitment advertisement is based on 22 separate requisitions received from different departments and directorates.

Before any recruitment notice is published, the concerned department is required to verify and certify reservation calculations. Only after this process is completed does the Commission proceed with issuing the advertisement.

UPSSSC said this mechanism is designed to ensure transparency and compliance with government guidelines.

TRUST OFFICIAL INFORMATION, SAYS COMMISSION

Reiterating that the recruitment process is being conducted in a transparent and rule-bound manner, the Commission urged candidates not to be influenced by unverified claims on social media.

It advised aspirants to rely only on official notifications and announcements issued through authorised channels, warning that attempts were being made to distort facts surrounding the recruitment process.
