Silent in Delhi, caw like crows in Himachal: CM Sukhu takes swipe at BJP MPs

Before the meeting, Sukhu was welcomed at Dadaur Chowk and taken to Kansa Ground on a chariot accompanied by Chaudhary and other party leaders.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday compared the state’s BJP MPs to crows, accusing them of staying silent before their leaders in Delhi and speaking out only after returning to Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing a gathering at Kansa Ground in the Balh Assembly constituency, Sukhu said the MPs did not raise the state’s concerns with the BJP leadership.

“As soon as they enter Himachal Pradesh, they start cawing like crows,” he said after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for several projects.

CHANGE TO WELFARE SCHEME

Sukhu said his government would remove the requirement of one day’s work under MGNREGA from the Mukhyamantri Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar scheme.

He said families earning up to Rs 75,000 a year and having more than one daughter below the age of 21 would receive Rs 1,500 a month under the scheme.

BACKS CHAUDHARY FOR BALH

Sukhu said former minister Prakash Chaudhary would be the Congress candidate from Balh in the next Assembly election.

The Chief Minister told voters they had made a mistake by not electing Chaudhary earlier and urged them to support him next time.

He also announced plans for divisional offices of the Jal Shakti and electricity departments, and a DSP office in Balh, following requests from Chaudhary.
