A pregnant teenager from Delhi was allegedly killed and buried by her boyfriend and two of his aides in Haryana's Rohtak, as the girl wanted to marry him and keep the baby while he wanted her to abort.

Sonia, a 19-year-old girl from West Delhi's Nangloi, was active on social media, where she had over 6,000 followers and had posted images and videos of herself along with her boyfriend Sanju, aka Saleem, police said.

Her body was dug out from a field in Haryana's Rohtak, where she was buried by her boyfriend in a four-foot-deep pit.

The police said that she was seven months pregnant and was insisting on marrying Saleem. However, he was not willing to do so and wanted her to abort. The couple used to fight over this frequently, and on Monday she went to meet the accused after taking a few things from her home.

The Delhi Police received a complaint on October 23, leading to the arrest of the accused. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

According to the police, the accused admitted that he had premeditated the murder and involved his friends Ritik and Pankaj in the crime. They selected the day of Karva Chauth for the act, renting a car for the occasion. That night, as Sonia left her home with her belongings, she met the accused in the Nangloi area. He then drove her directly to Rohtak, where he allegedly strangled her and buried her body in the forests of Rohtak before returning to Delhi later that night.

The police have arrested Saleem and one of his accomplices, while the other is absconding.
