Favours won't even get you sweeper's job: Kangana slams Rakhi Sawant's remark on PM

Actor and Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut responded to Rakhi Sawant over recent controversial comments involving Smriti Irani, marking the latest escalation in their public dispute.

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has responded to Rakhi Sawant’s recent controversial comments about her and actor-politician Smriti Irani. Kangana slammed Rakhi, calling her "unsuccessful and bitter."

The controversy erupted following an episode of the podcast MK Talks, where Rakhi made remarks addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prominent female politicians.

During the conversation, Rakhi said, "Why is Modi ji looking here and there? What will he get from Kangana apart from bones? Modi ji, what have these Smriti, Kangana and all these women given you that you made them ministers? So whatever they gave you, I can also give you."

Reacting to Rakhi’s latest remarks, Kangana wrote on her Instagram Stories, "Not just her but most unsuccessful and bitter people are quick to character lynch successful women to satisfy and justify their jealousy/envy, failures and ego but high time we stop being vulnerable to such frequent, intentional attacks and public character assassination, we must stop feeling humiliated and hurt and stop over explaining ourselves (sic)."

She added, "So yes my loves!! Even you are ready to do everything for success but guess what!! Unfortunately no one needs anything from you, remember, all your favours combined never got you even a sweeper's job even that needs some quality and talent so be rest assured favours or no favours you aren't going anywhere, so sit down watch my reels and keep crying (sic)."

For the unversed, Rakhi recently received backlash after she made suggestive remarks about Kangana Ranaut, Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This isn’t the first time Kangana has slammed Rakhi. Earlier, Rakhi had shared a video criticising Kangana for speaking against the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest in Delhi, calling her a "gutter mouth."

Responding to Rakhi, Ashutosh and others who criticised her, Kangana had said, "I see such people every day, whether it is Ashutosh Rana, who says that I bark like a dog; or Sonu Sood, who says that I should learn how to behave. People like Rakhi Sawant, who make all kinds of vulgar comments about my character; and Taapsee Pannu, who keep insulting my parents, my upbringing and my background."

She added, “I have only one message for these people. If you haven't achieved even 1% of my success then I am not interested in hearing your opinions on me. All failed, unwanted people abusing me all the time."

Reacting to Rakhi's recent remarks, the actor mentioned that critics must "first become someone like me" before offering opinions, concluding firmly, "These hungry people cannot comment on me and I will not listen to them... Only those who are more successful than me, I will listen to them."

Rakhi was recently seen in Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent episode with entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, comedian Kushagra Srivastava and The Habitat owner Balraj Ghai.

Kangana had recently called for an end to the “character assassination of women”, referring to the “cheer haran” (disrobing) and the targeting of a Tamil actor over her personal relationships. Her remarks came days after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay condemned personal attacks, double-meaning insults and derogatory comments against women in the state Assembly.

Kangana officially entered mainstream politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Contesting from her hometown constituency of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, she defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of over 74,000 votes to become a Member of Parliament.

Since her election, she has represented the BJP as a prominent vocal figure, focusing on regional development projects in Himachal Pradesh while maintaining a active public presence in national political debates.

Meanwhile, Kangana's last theatrical release was Bharat Bhagya Vidhata (2026), written and directed by Manoj Tapadia.

Looking ahead, she is set to reunite with her Thalaivii (2021) director AL Vijay for an upcoming pan-India psychological thriller, which also features her Tanu Weds Manu series co-actor R Madhavan.
