At least 10 injured in shooting at lake party near Oklahoma City

A shooting at a party near Arcadia Lake left at least 10 people injured. Police are interviewing victims and witnesses, and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

At least 10 people were injured in a shooting at a party near Oklahoma City, authorities said.

Police received multiple reports of gunfire at around 9 pm at a gathering of young people near Arcadia Lake, according to Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward.

Ward said at least 10 victims were taken to hospitals, while others drove themselves for treatment. She added that the victims were in “various conditions.”

Authorities have not made any arrests so far. Ward said there is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

“We’re kind of all over the metro speaking with victims and witnesses,” she said.

Arcadia Lake, located about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City, is a manmade reservoir used for flood control. It is also a popular recreational destination offering fishing, boating, picnicking and camping. The lake is situated in Edmond, a suburb with a population of about 100,000.
