Speaking at the launch of the Seva, Sushasan evam Samarpan: Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar programme in Rishikesh, Dhami said the five-year milestone was not merely an occasion for celebration but an opportunity to reaffirm the government's commitment to public service, good governance and dedication.
"This milestone is not merely an occasion for celebration, but a moment to further strengthen our unwavering resolve to make Uttarakhand the best state," the chief minister said.
Reiterating his long-term vision, Dhami said the government's objective was to build a self-reliant and prosperous Uttarakhand by 2035.
"Our goal is not just to complete a term in office. We are working towards transforming Uttarakhand into a fully developed state by 2035," he said.
The chief minister said the government was placing special emphasis on strengthening infrastructure, education, healthcare, drinking water supply, road connectivity, agriculture, tourism, industry, investment, self-employment and the development of border areas.
COMMITTED TO PM MODI'S VISION
Dhami also credited the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the support of the people of Uttarakhand for his government's achievements. He said the trust and blessings of the people remained his greatest source of strength.
Highlighting his government's record, the chief minister said several key initiatives had contributed to Uttarakhand's development and reflected its commitment to building a Viksit Bharat. He asserted that his government had taken several landmark decisions that previous administrations lacked the courage to implement.
Among the major decisions cited by Dhami were the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the abolition of the Madrasa Board, the establishment of the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, and the enactment of stringent anti-conversion and anti-cheating laws.
51 DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ANNOUNCED
Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh also attended the event. On the occasion, the governor and the chief minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 51 development projects worth more than Rs 219 crore in Dehradun district.
Dhami first assumed office as Uttarakhand's chief minister on July 4, 2021, following the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat, and returned to power after the BJP retained the state in the 2022 Assembly elections.
