The Himachal Pradesh government has directed all government schools across the state to remain open on August 15 to mark Independence Day with due dignity, discipline and patriotic fervour.
The directive has been issued by the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh, which instructed all Deputy Directors of School Education (Secondary and Elementary) and Principals of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) complexes to ensure strict compliance with the order.
According to the official communication, all government schools will remain functional on Independence Day, with students, teachers, and school staff participating in the official Independence Day celebrations organised at the Tehsil, Sub-Division, and District headquarters.
The Directorate has also instructed district education authorities and heads of educational institutions to issue necessary directions to schools under their jurisdiction to ensure smooth implementation of the government's instructions, as reported by ANI.
