The incident occurred in the Vasai-Virar area, where the Ganesh idol was being transported from a workshop to a pandal. As the trolley was being moved, it suddenly overturned, causing the idol to fall to the ground.

Members of the Ganesh Puja committee were present when the incident occurred and had to deal with the situation after the trolley toppled. Some members also expressed anger following the mishap.

The incident took place as the area was receiving continuous rainfall. The wet conditions made the transportation of Ganesh idols more difficult, with organisers having to navigate through rain-hit and poorly maintained roads.
