Police investigating the Ketan Agarwal murder case have uncovered details of an alleged attempt by accused Chetan Chaudhary to pursue another woman about a year before the murder.

According to police, Chetan allegedly tried to initiate a relationship with a college student in Pune on May 9, 2026. The woman, a native of Latur, was staying in Pune with a friend at the time. Police have recorded the statements of both women in connection with the case.

According to the woman's statement, she and her friend went to a club on SB Road for a party with one woman's boyfriend and Chetan Chaudhary. After consuming alcohol, the four went to a lodge in the Market Yard area late at night.

The woman's friend went into one room with her boyfriend, while the other woman went into another room with Chetan, according to the statement.

The woman alleged that Chetan forcibly tried to initiate a relationship with her. She reportedly told her friend about the incident the following day. The friend also told police that Chetan had tried two or three times to pursue a relationship with her.

CHETAN, SIYA STAYED AT 2 PUNE HOTELS

The investigation has also revealed details about the relationship between Chetan and Siya Goyal. According to police, the two stayed overnight at two different hotels in Pune before their marriage was fixed.

Police have recorded statements of managers and staff members from both hotels and seized copies of the identity documents submitted during their stays.

According to police, Chetan booked a room at a hotel on NIBM Road in November 2025. He was allotted room number 304. The hotel's assistant finance manager told police that Chetan submitted his Aadhaar card, while Siya's learning licence was provided as her identity proof.

The two reportedly checked out at around 1 pm the following day. Police have taken copies of both identity documents as part of the investigation.

Chetan and Siya stayed at another hotel in the Gultekdi area in January 2026. The hotel manager's statement has also been recorded by police.

CHETAN ASKED IF DELETED CHATS COULD BE RECOVERED

Police have also recorded the statement of a friend of Chetan, who works for a private company.

According to the statement, Chetan contacted the friend on June 22 and spoke about an incident in Lonavala in which, he said, a vehicle driven by the friend had hit another car before they left the spot.

Chetan reportedly told the friend that he was subsequently being harassed on WhatsApp and Instagram using the vehicle registration number and mobile number. He asked whether deleted WhatsApp and Instagram chats could be recovered by the police.

Chetan also asked whether the friend knew anyone in the Crime Branch or a mobile company who could help him, according to the police statement.

The friend reportedly told police that he had no such contacts and informed Chetan that deleted data could potentially be recovered by investigators. The two had planned to meet that night, but the meeting could not take place because of the friend's work commitments.

The following day, the friend learnt that Chetan and Siya had been arrested, according to his statement.
