- Establishment of 22 lakh MSMEs part of government’s vision
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday, outlined his government’s ambitious vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global job destination, emphasising policies geared toward youth employment and wealth creation. Speaking during a discussion in the Assembly on six newly adopted industrial policies, Naidu reiterated the importance of creating opportunities for the state’s young workforce.
EMPLOYMENT AS CORE FOCUS
“The main target of my government is to provide employment to the youth,” the Chief Minister said. Highlighting the pivotal role of Andhra Pradesh's younger demographic, he stated, “Youth is our asset, and if employment is provided to them, they will create wealth.” The overarching aim of the government’s policies, he added, is to harness this potential to boost state revenues, enabling further welfare initiatives.
POLICY INNOVATIONS FOR GROWTH
Naidu stressed the state’s commitment to global competitiveness through the mantra of “Think Globally and Act Globally”. He pointed to the establishment of 22 lakh Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a cornerstone of this strategy. To support these enterprises, the government has set up a Rs 500-crore corpus fund dedicated to creating an innovation hub. This hub will be interconnected with 175 industrial parks and will incentivize farmers to establish food processing units, a move expected to spur rural economic development.
ORGANIC AND FOOD PROCESSING ZONES
As part of the government’s efforts to modernise agriculture and industry, Chief Minister Naidu announced plans to declare three agency districts as organic zones. He emphasised that the food processing industry could yield significant benefits for the state, aligning with the government’s focus on sustainable practices and long-term economic gains.
CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Reflecting on the challenges faced by Andhra Pradesh, Naidu lamented the lack of investments during the previous government’s tenure. “Unable to bear harassment, even existing units ran away from the state,” he said. He stressed the need for a robust service sector to complement industrial and agricultural growth, ensuring sustained asset creation.
VISION FOR 2047
Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat-2047” vision, which envisions India as a leading global power, Naidu expressed his determination to position Andhra Pradesh as the number one state in India by that time. The Chief Minister underscored the adoption of the best possible policies to provide incentives to investors, projecting Andhra Pradesh as an investor-friendly state.
ASSURANCE TO INVESTORS
Promising a favourable environment for businesses, Chief Minister Naidu assured prospective investors of government support. “The state has suffered a lot due to the destructive policies of the previous government,” he remarked, adding that the current administration is committed to fostering trust and stability for businesses. He expressed confidence that the newly adopted policies would serve as a transformative force for Andhra Pradesh's future.
Reaffirming his belief in the power of public policies, Naidu said, “I strongly believe that the public policies will totally transform the future of the state.” His government’s initiatives, he noted, aim to strike a balance between industrial growth, agricultural development, and youth employment, setting the stage for a prosperous and dynamic Andhra Pradesh.
