JP Nadda undergoes angiography at AIIMS Delhi after uneasiness complaint

Union Health Minister JP Nadda was admitted to AIIMS Delhi after experiencing uneasiness and underwent coronary angiography on August 13.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda was admitted to AIIMS Delhi after he experienced uneasiness, the hospital said on Friday.

Nadda underwent a coronary angiography after being admitted on Thursday evening, August 13. He is currently stable and remains admitted for observation in the Department of Cardiology at AIIMS.

“Union Health Minister JP Nadda was evaluated for uneasiness with tests, including a coronary angiography on the evening of August 13, 2026. He is currently stable and admitted for observation in the Dept of Cardiology, AIIMS,” the hospital said in an official statement regarding his health status.

The statement said Nadda was evaluated for uneasiness, including through a coronary angiography, on the evening of August 13.

He continues to remain under observation in the cardiology department at AIIMS Delhi.

Originally hailing from Himachal Pradesh, JP Nadda was born on December 2, 1960, in Patna, Bihar. He completed his BA from Patna University and later studied LLB at Himachal Pradesh University.

During his young age, Nadda actively participated in various movements run by Jai Prakash Narayan. He was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and was elected the organisation's National Secretary in 1989.

In 1991, Nadda was made the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. In 1993, he was elected as an MLA in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the first time and became the Leader of Opposition.

He was re-elected in 1998 and became the Health Minister in the BJP state government.

In 2010, Nadda was made the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected as a Rajya Sabha member for the first time in 2012.

Nadda took charge of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, from 2014 to 2019.

In June 2019, he was elected the National Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In January 2020, he became the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
