A woman was caught on camera smashing a Royal Enfield Bullet after a chain-reaction crash in Jaipur, where a scooter’s sudden braking near a culvert caused the biker to lose control and collide with her cab ahead of him. The Bullet rider, Saurabh Sharma, alleged that the traffic police failed to intervene despite a personnel deployed at the spot where the accident occurred.
The incident occurred on March 22 when Saurabh was on his way to work when the scooter, which was ahead, applied brakes abruptly. The cab behind also applied brakes, which caused Saurabh to lose his balance and accidentally hit his Bullet with the car. Saurabh said it was a minor accident and immediately apologised to the cab driver.
What followed was both unexpected and explosive. Instead of confronting the scooter rider who triggered the crash, the woman charged at Saurabh, charging at him and picking up an argument. Within moments, tensions spiralled, with a viral video showing her smashing the bike’s mirrors with his helmet and then repeatedly striking its body and rear lights with a stone.
“The damage is already around Rs 1,700, just leave it now. You have damaged my vehicle,” Saurabh pleads. But the woman refuses to pay heed and continues to smash the bike’s mirror and rear lights with a helmet and a stone.
“Why should I leave it?” the woman replies, as she continues vandalising the bike. Bystanders are seen nearby but nobody intervenes during the incident.
Saurabh alleged that a traffic police personnel did not take action despite standing barely a few metres from where the incident took place. He repeatedly calls the cop to intervene and stop the woman from damaging his bike.
“Are you enjoying damaging my bike? My vehicle wasn’t this damaged. You have caused more destruction. I will file a case against you, enough is enough,” he angrily tells the woman.
But, the woman responds defiantly, “You can’t do anything to me.”
A surprised Saurabh then retorts, “The police can’t do anything to you? Are you above the law?”
Both Saurabh and the woman reached the police station, where the matter was settled after police intervention. But, the incident has sparked debate over public conduct, accountability and the role of traffic police in such situations, with many calling for stricter action to prevent similar incidents.
