IAS officer Tina Dabi was criticised by several sections of the internet after she was seen greeting BJP leader Satish Poonia several times in a now-viral video.

In the video, Dabi, the District Collector of Rajasthan’s Barmer district, is seen bowing her head five times in a row – all in seven seconds – with folded hands as she greeted Poonia.

"Dadagiri karke safai karwa rahe ho lekin achcha kaam kar rahi ho (You are bullying people and asking them to maintain cleanliness. But you are doing good work)," the former state BJP chief praised Dabi.

Poonia was referring to Tina Dabi's recent cleanliness drive in the district, videos of which went viral on social media.

Several videos showed Dabi reprimanding shopkeepers during a cleanliness inspection drive in Barmer. The IAS officer conducted a cleanliness assessment with administrative staff to evaluate the city’s sanitation efforts, and rebuked shopkeepers who kept their surroundings dirty.

However, Tina Dabi's gesture of greeting the BJP leader multiple times triggered a debate on social media, wherein several X users said that an IAS officer of her stature "shouldn’t bend" in front of politicians.
