Piyush Mishra backs JPSC-JSSC protest in Ranchi, sings Aarambh Hai Prachand

Actor-lyricist Piyush Mishra visited the JPSC-JSSC student protest site in Ranchi and extended support to the aspirants. His visit came as the second week of agitation over alleged paper leaks continued.

Actor, singer and lyricist Piyush Mishra visited the JPSC-JSSC student protest site in Ranchi and extended his support to the protesting aspirants. His visit came as the agitation over Jharkhand’s recruitment examinations continued in the city.

The protests are now in their second week and centre on allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the state’s recruitment examinations. The students are demanding accountability and action from the state government.

Moved by interviews of the protesting aspirants, Mishra decided to travel to Ranchi to meet them directly at their demonstration site. He had previously spoken out about the student movement, criticising the film industry's lack of support while pledging to provide financial, medical, and food assistance to the youth.

While extending his support to the students, he said, "I did not come here for any other reason. I watched some of the interviews with the students, and I saw the pain in their eyes. I saw their suffering and tears, and that was enough reason for me to come here. I was free for two days, so I decided to come and extend my support."

Mishra also appreciated the peaceful nature of the demonstration. He commended the students for raising their concerns without abusive language.

The atmosphere at the protest turned charged when Mishra performed his iconic track Aarambh Hai Prachand from director Anurag Kashyap's Gulaal. The crowd of students eagerly sang along, turning his performance into an emotional and high-energy highlight of the rally.

A few days ago, actor Sonakshi Sinha backed protesting students in Jharkhand. Her support drew wider attention to their demands for an independent probe and recruitment reforms.

Sonakshi had previously also extended her support to the Cockroach Janta Party's youth-led protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of the then Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.

The JPSC-JSSC protests are an ongoing student-led movement in Jharkhand protesting against alleged irregularities, paper leaks, and systemic delays in state competitive examinations.

Centred at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, job aspirants— under the banner of the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch — are demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Preliminary Examination, transparent recruitment practices, and an independent investigation by the CBI or a retired High Court panel.

The agitation has drawn widespread public support, including a visit by actor-singer Piyush Mishra, and continues to put significant pressure on the state government to deliver recruitment reforms.
