A dispute over loud music turned fatal in Mumbai's Vikhroli (West) in the early hours of August 6, leaving a father and his teenage son dead and two other family members critically injured in a stabbing attack.

According to preliminary information, the violence began after objections were raised over loud music being played inside the house. Police said what started as a verbal argument allegedly escalated into a violent clash and later turned deadly.

Police said the fight initially involved fists and kicks before a sharp-edged weapon was allegedly used. The attacker is accused of repeatedly stabbing members of the family during the confrontation.

Sunil Vishwakarma, 40, and his 14-year-old son, Shlok Vishwakarma, suffered grievous injuries in the attack. They were taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared both of them dead.

Sunil's wife, Anju Vishwakarma, and the couple's younger son, Vivaan Vishwakarma, also sustained serious stab injuries. Both are undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital and remain in a critical condition.

After the incident, Parksite Police and a forensic team reached the spot, sealed the crime scene and began collecting evidence. Police have detained Surendra Vishwakarma and Suraj Vishwakarma in connection with the case.

A senior police officer said the preliminary investigation indicates that the violence arose from a family dispute triggered by objections over loud music. The detained men are being questioned, and efforts are under way to recover the knife allegedly used in the attack and establish the sequence of events.

Police said the exact motive, the circumstances that led to the attack and the role of the accused are still under investigation. The incident has left the Rahul Nagar locality in shock.
