Odisha Energy Department issues notification for recruitment of OERC Chairperson

Bhubaneswar: The Energy Department of Odisha government today issued a notification inviting application for the recruitment of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) Chairperson.

As per the notification, applications are invited to fill up the post of Chairperson of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) from the interested and eligible candidates with other relevant information so as to reach the Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., Energy Department, Govt. of Odisha, Kharavel Bhawan, Bhubaneswar by Regd. Post or e-mail (energy@od.gov.in) by 5.30 PM of August 10, 2026.

Incomplete and/or defective applications and applications received after due date, shall be summarily rejected. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

The Chairperson of the Commission shall be a person of ability, integrity and standing who has adequate knowledge of and has shown capacity in dealing with problems relating to engineering, finance, commerce, economics, law or management. The Chairperson of the Commission shall not hold any other office.

The Chairperson, OERC shall hold office for 5 years from the date he/she assumes charge or till he/she attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.

The Chairperson is entitled to get a pay of Rs 2,25,000 per month. In addition, he/she is further entitled to DA and other allowances as admissible to the Chairperson of the Commission from time to time.

The authority reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any time without assigning any reasons thereof.
