Man elephant conflict leaves youth critical in Keonjhar district

Joda: A youth was critically injured after being trampled by an elephant in the forest of Odisha’s Keonjhar district. This tragic incident occurred in Jhaliabeda forest under Champua Range of the district.
The critically injured youth has been identified as Shubham Kar of Jyotipur village.
As per reports, Shubham along with a few youths from local areas entered the forest after hearing that there are two elephants in the forest.
They went to see the two elements and were capturing some photos of the animals. Suddenly one of the elephants charged on them.

The elephant then hit Shubham with its trunk.
Seriously injured Shubham was later rescued by the forest department officials and rushed to Bhanda Medical.
The Forest Department has asked people not to move to forest areas to watch wild animals. T
he Department has requested them not to move closer to the wildlife in order to capture their photographs and videos as it can be dangerous.
