Watch: Mother-daughter found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mayurbhanj, murder suspected

Karanjia: In a horrific double death incident, a woman and her eight-year-old daughter were found dead inside a locked house in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

The incident occurred at Muktajhari Sahi in the Dokeipal village under Mahuldiha police station limits.

The deceased duo has been identified as Sitamani Tudu and her eight-year-old daughter, Jabamani Tudu.

As per reports, Chaitanya Tudu had gone out of his house on around 10 AM. He came back home at 2PM to see his house locked from outside.

After repeated calling and no answer received from within, Chaitanya suspected something fishy.

Following which, he climbed through the roof and saw into his bedroom which was locked from inside.

Both his wife and their daughter were found dead on the floor.

Upon opening the bedroom, Chaitanya found the throat of his daughter slit by a sharp weapon, and even the wife was dead in the room.

The daughter, Jabamani was a student of Class II at the Ashram School in Paradip.

On receiving information, police and officials from Karanjia SDPO and Mahuldiha IIC, with the assistance of the Scientific Team, reached the site.

After an investigation into the crime scene, the bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem to the government hospital.

Police are suspecting murder.

Investigation is on to trace out the culprits and all angles are being examined.
