CCTV footage leads to looter gang being caught in Cuttack

Banki: A looter gang was caught by people with the help of CCTV footage in Baideswar police limits area in Banki block of Cuttack district of Odisha.

The looters were reportedly active in the Baideswar area for a long time now. Police had received multiple complaints of robbery case including series loot, temple loot and many more. These looter gang were reportdly involved in those heists.

These looters have allegedly looted lakhs of Rupees from 5o households in more than one year in the area.

The locals had filed a complaint, however, the police could not trace them despite multiple attempts.

However, these thieves, seemingly untraceable were finnaly nabbed by people after their cover got blown by a CCTV footage of a shop, which got robbed by them on June 17. The looters identity got exposed.

On basis of the CCTV footage, the looter were caught and subsequently handed over to the police.

The looters reportedly took on multiple identities in order to search for targets such as sometimes they introduced themselves as furniture sellers and other times they identified themselves as street hawkers.

Police has detained them and is investigating the case.
