IMD issues rain warnings for Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued rain warnings for Odisha saying the weather activities will continue till July 17.

As predicted by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts.

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of July 11):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 11 to 8.30 AM of July 12):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 12 to 8.30 AM of July 13):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 13 to 8.30 AM of July 14):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
  • Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 14 to 8.30 AM of July 15):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput.
  • Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 6 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 15 to 8.30 AM of July 16):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 16 to 8.30 AM of July 17):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
  • Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Odisha.
