Two siblings killed, one injured in bear attack

Chhattisgarh: A man and his sister were killed after being mauled by a wild bear in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, said a forest official on Wednesday.

The attack occurred in the afternoon in Largaon Markatola village, which falls under the forest area of Narharpur forest range.

Reportedly, the three siblings were involved in cultivation in a farm when they came under attack from the bear.

The man along with his sister suffered injuries to their death.

Another sister of the couple was also injured and was rushed for medical attention.

Forest officials and police personnel reached the spot after being informed after the incident took place.

An inquiry is on and forest teams are keeping round-the-clock watch on the location and efforts are being made to prevent human wildlife conflict.
