Low-pressure area likely in 24 hours, heavy rain to lash Odisha till July 28-29

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal, thanks to an active cyclonic circulation that continues to span north Odisha and adjoining west Bengal.

IMD has said that the system is all set to cause widespread rain over the state in the next few days.

Already, intermittent rain has been received in many parts of the state, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has also said that rains would occur across several districts of the state in the coming days with chances of heavy to very heavy showers at a few places.

Orange Warning has been issued for 4 districts which include Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar as they may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Yellow warning has been issued for another 20 districts in which heavy rain will occur.

IMD states that as the system is slowly getting weaker the intensity of the rainfall will also decrease after July 29, 2022.

Given the turbulent sea conditions the fishermen are warned from venturing into the sea for 3 days.
