Thief covers CCTV camera, steals from Jagannath temple in Laxmipur

Laxmipur: A theft was reported at  Jagannath Temple in Laxmipur, with the unidentified thief allegedly covering a CCTV camera with a piece of coloured cloth before carrying out the crime.

The incident has sparked concern in the area, particularly as several house burglaries have reportedly been reported in Laxmipur recently. The latest incident has now seen a temple being targeted.

According to sources, the thief used the cloth to obstruct the CCTV camera’s view before entering the temple premises.

Two Godrej almirahs were broken into, but the exact items and amount stolen are yet to be ascertained.

Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and have begun an investigation.

CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to identify the person involved.

The exact extent of the theft is expected to become clear after the ongoing investigation.
