Maharashtra: Three arrested for attacking hospital staff in Thane

Mumbai: Three people have been arrested for allegedly attacking doctors and hospital staff at a KDMC hospital in Dombivli, Maharashtra.
As per reports, another accused person Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) corporator Ramesh Mhatre is yet to be arrested in this matter.
The incident took place after a new born baby didn’t get place to be admitted in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to no beds available at the hospital.
The doctors of the hospital asked the family to take the baby to another hospital for treatment following which an argument took place. This outraged Ramesh Mhatre and people who support him and they attacked the doctors and the staff of the hospital where the incident took place.
A video of the attack has also gone viral which capture the accused persons slapping and punching the victim doctors and staff.

Police have arrested three accused persons and has also registered an FIR against Ramesh Mhatre. As per reports, no action has been taken against him so far.
This incident led to protests by doctors and hospital staff demanding strict action against those involved and better security in hospitals.
The Maharashtra government has said the matter will be investigated and those responsible will face action.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
