2 dead, 4 injured after massive landslide in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: An incident took place in which massive landslide took place killing 2 people and injuring 4 people in the Shivaji Nagar area of Arunachal Pradesh.

This incident came after heavy rainfall took place in the region.

Following the incident, five people got trapped under the debris after the hillside got collapsed. One of the trapped person managed to come out on his own.

Rescue operation took place and two deceased bodies were recovered. The victims of the landslide incident are said to be labourers.

The road which got damaged due to the incident was a crucial transport corridor that connected 16 villages under the Lazu Administrative Circle.

IMD forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, issues Orange Alert for vulnerable districts over flash flood and landslide risks.

The state received fresh flash floods yesterday damaging homes and infrastructure after heavy rainfall in many parts of the state.
