17 Delhi metro stations shut amid ongoing CJP protest

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has closed entry and exit facilities at 17 metro stations in central Delhi since 7:30 AM to avoid issues arising due to the ongoing CJP protests at Jantar Mantar.

It is the third day that sections have been put under lockdown. Entry & exit of 17 stations of Delhi Metro are closed from 7:30 am till further notice.

Metro trains will cross these stations without stopping,” tweeted the DMRC.

Other transportations remain open, such as entry and exit gates in select interchange stations.

Delhi Police have increased their vigilance at and around the venue of protests in Jantar Mantar following increased concerns, including around the Parliament building.

Ahead of the important meeting at the Centre with the CJP delegation in order to decide on the CJP-led protests over alleged NEET paper leak, police forces were put to use all along the area near the Parliament and also near the venue of the protest.

“We urge commuters to please ensure they divert their routes,” said Delhi Police officials.

Travel in central Delhi might be put under strict regulations as the situation is under review to provide optimum security and ensure law & order during the CJP meet.
