Jharkhand Police, CRPF Nab Rs 1 Crore Bounty Maoist Misir Besra in Joint Operation

Malkangiri: In a major breakthrough against Naxalism, Jharkhand Police along with the CRPF’s elite Cobra-209 battalion have arrested Misir Besra, a central committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) who carried a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head.

Besra was apprehended along with two associates during a joint operation in the Maniadih area on the Dhanbad-Giridih border.

Officials described the arrest as a significant milestone in the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign in the state. Authorities believe the capture will severely disrupt Maoist operations in Jharkhand and further strengthen law and order.

The operation is being seen as a decisive step towards making Jharkhand Naxal-free. Security forces have intensified operations across the state in recent months as part of the Centre’s strategy to eliminate Left Wing Extremism.
