Karnataka man allegedly kills wife to continue relationship with widow, arrested

New Delhi: In a gruesome incident from Karnataka’s Belagavi district, a man was arrested on Sunday by police for allegedly murdering his wife to continue a relationship with his village widow neighbor.
According to the Police, the victim Sakkubai Patayat was a resident of Shindikurabet village in Gokak taluk of Belagavi district.
The victim’s husband, Santosh Patayat, planned to take her to the Chamundeshwari Temple in Marakumbi village.
On the occasion of the Adhika Masa period, he took her to the location and allegedly slit her throat.

The investigators believe that after committing the murder of his wife, Santosh dumped her body and tried to hide evidence of the crime.
Police sources suspect that the man was having an affair with a woman from the same village, and had committed the crime together.
The murder came to light as villagers found Sakkubai missing and, upon discovering her body, raised suspicion on Santosh Patayat,
Later, he was taken into custody by the Police, who registered a case and were investigating the crime further.
