Odisha CM hikes Risk Allowance for SOG Jawans to Rs. 25 thousand, Check details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced a significant hike in the risk allowance for Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans, increasing it from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month.
This decision was made during the inauguration of a new training-cum-briefing hall for SOG jawans at Chandaka and a modern Counter-Terrorism Training Complex.
The CM praised the SOG jawans for their pivotal role in a recent joint anti-Maoist operation with Chhattisgarh Police and CRPF, where 14 Maoists were killed.
The revised risk allowance structure includes:
– SOG officers directly involved in operations: Rs. 25,000 per month
– Subedar and Deputy Subedar: Rs. 24,000
– Havildar: Rs. 20,000
– Constable and Sepoy: Rs. 16,000

– SOG, AET, and RC officials not directly involved: Rs. 12,000
– District Volunteer Force (DVF) personnel: Rs. 10,000
– Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) staff: Rs. 20,000
The CM also announced amendments to the state’s surrender and rehabilitation scheme for Maoists, offering benefits of up to Rs. 1.2 crore. The state government has sanctioned the creation of 15,326 posts across various police wings and departments.
The CM today inaugurated the new Training cum Briefing Hall and the state of the art Counter Terrorism Training Complex at SOG Chandaka, strengthening Odisha’s security preparedness and operational capabilities.
The CM also inaugurated multiple police infrastructure projects across 16 districts and announced the enhancement in Risk Allowance for SOG personnel from December.
Reiterating zero tolerance towards violence, the CM affirmed the Government’s firm resolve to act against violent elements and appealed to extremists to surrender and join the mainstream of society.
