Odisha: Man hacks nephew to death over family dispute

Sundaragada: In a ghastly incident, a man hacked his nephew to death over a family dispute in Biramitrapur police station area of Odisha’s Sundaragada district last night.

The accused man, Sania Kujur of Hadratali village under the Biramitrapur police station limits, reportedly hacked his nephew Etua Kujur with an axe causing his death on the spot yesterday night.

Sania killed Etua allegedly over a family dispute when he was alone in the house.

A team of cops from Biramitrapur police station reached the village this morning after getting information about the murder and initiated an investigation into the matter. A scientific team also reached the spot of crime to conduct inspection.

Apart from seizing and sending Etua’s body to the hospital for postmortem, cops detained Sania for interrogation. They also seized the axe used in the crime.

Meanwhile, the ghastly murder has surprised and terrified the local residents.
