Gym trainer killed after a fight at client’s flat in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old gym trainer was allegedly assaulted and killed after an altercation inside a client’s apartment in Bengaluru.

Four people have been taken into custody in connection with the murder.

The deceased has been identified as Nandan, a resident of Jakkuru Layout in Yelahanka, who worked as a trainer at a gym in Sahakara Nagar.

According to police, the accused are Vishwanatha, Sharath, Nishanth and Anush. Vishwanatha, Sharath and Nishanth were Nandan’s colleagues at the gym, while Anush was a client whom all of them trained. Police said Vishwanatha was Anush’s personal trainer.

The incident took place between 7 am and 7.30 am on Sunday, after attending an anniversary event at the gym on Saturday evening, Nandan and his colleagues Vishwanatha, Sharath and Nishanth went to Anush’s flat in Kempapura to spend the night there.

As per preliminary investigation, police said an argument broke out among the men over personal issues and escalated into a violent clash, during which Nandan was fatally assaulted. Vishwanatha and Sharath also suffered minor injuries in the scuffle, police said. Nandan was later shifted to a private hospital in Hebbal, where he died of his injuries.

CCTV footage from the spot and other technical data are being analysed to establish the exact motive and sequence of events.
