Taj Hotel in Mumbai on high alert after hoax bomb threat

Mumbai: Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai was put on high alert after receiving a bomb threat call claiming Dawood Ibrahim had planted a bomb in the hotel. The threat call was made to Navi Mumbai Police.
After the call, the Mumbai Police, Crime Branch, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the hotel to search for the bomb.
The whole hotel was under search operation that includes lobby, restaurants, banquet halls, parking area, and swimming pool.
As per reports, after a detailed search for the bomb in the entire hotel nothing was found and the bomb threat was declared as a hoax.
The Local Mumbai Police are trying to trace the person who made this fake call and give false information regarding the bomb threat and arrest him.

The call created a lot of panic due to 2008 Mumbai terror attacks (26/11).
This hoax bomb threat comes following a fake bomb threat was reported at Delhi’s Red Fort.
The bomb threat call made by the caller to the Mumbai Police Control Room, which was later informed to the Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police, bomb disposal squad and various other security agencies reached the Red Fort and began with the sanitization and search process.
However, no suspicious object or explosive was found in the Red Fort and security officials stated it was a hoax call.
